What a shame that in recent years JK Rowling has devoted herself to such virulent and disgusting platforming of abuse against transgender people, fostering so much anti-trans hatred and generally sharing a lot of bile and bigotry.

The series has its flaws, but even were it actually perfect or even particularly good in comparison to other fantasy series, any positivity is soured by the fact that money going to the HP franchise directly supports a bigoted and hateful movement.
