1.5k. Rated T. Just a Gen short, a snippet of something with Perseverance-before-God, Gryff Gordon, and Dhanmeet Singh.

“Jesus,” Gryff muttered under his breath, glancing down at his phone. He was wearing leather gloves lined with squirrel fur that Perseverance had actually made for him in the summer, and at the time, he’d been horrified, a little grossed out, even, but he was fucking glad for them now, glad for how warm they were, and the fact that he could use his touchscreen without taking them off. He was wearing the thickest gilet he’d actually been able to buy, heavily insulated over his fleece ranger’s top, and two scarves on top of his fucking hat.

“It beggars belief,” Dhanmeet said in grave terms, his lips remaining parted as they stood beside one another, Dhanmeet with his ungloved hands wrapped around his mug.

They were both leaning against the back of one of the benches, which currently literally had ice shining on it from the rain overnight that had then frozen, and Dhanmeet had just made the mug of tea over their camping stove. They were miles and miles out from the centre of the park, with the nearest actual kitchen God only knew how far away from them.
