Good evening!

for this list directly into your inbox.

Apologies I haven’t been sending out regular newsletters of late — my joints and my asthma, as I would imagine is the case for many of you, are being wreaked havoc with during this miserable cold weather, and I am not as a rule hale and hearty of late.

Some great news for those of you who like to keep stories as eBooks or who are looking for paperback copies of your favourites, or for those of you interested in gifting works of mine to friends or loved ones but obviously can’t gift a Patreon subscription — I have made a wide variety of shorts available as eBooks, and a few as paperbacks as well!

The count for new eBooks made available as novellas and novelettes is 40+, so I won’t be listing them individually, but , and here’s , which will direct you to Smashwords, Kobo, Apple Books, and other eBook retailers for my works.

THE SMASHWORDS ANNUAL SALE is currently on, and all of my eBooks on Smashwords are 25% off — all of my 99c works, namely the 40+ novelettes and novellas I’ve just mentioned,

The end-of-year sale is running until January 1st, so if you just got or are soon to get an eReader, now’s the time to stuff it with some of my shorts — and with Smashwords you can also send eBooks as gifts, so you can also send a bundle of them to a like-minded friend or loved one to stuff their eReaders with, if they’re so inclined!

Newly available in hard copy is Powder and Feathers, available as and through Amazon. Some of the short eBooks I’ve made available as paperbacks are Touch-Starved, A Man’s Indentures, Dirk and the Weaver, Gellert’s New Job, Agreements and Curses, and a few others, on Amazon and also through Draft2Digital, meaning that the paperbacks should be available through Barnes & Noble and some other online retailers as well.

Paperbacks through Draft2Digital’s publishing services are more expensive than those I publish through Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing because it’s different companies that collate and put them together. At conventions going forward, I am probably going to stick with KDP because they’re cheaper, but obviously I will sign whatever people like as desired.

Going forward, my intention is that longer shorts I publish on Medium and Patreon and elsewhere, those that are 8k+, I will also endeavour to publish as eBooks, keeping them priced in the range of 99c/99pc to $2.99 or so.

A new release I have today — in eBook as well as paperback — is The Gravedigger’s Tale, which is a collection of horror shorts, , and should be showing up on other sites in the coming days.

An upcoming release I’ll be a part of is The Circle Collective’s , edited by Jay Kang Romanus, which is coming out on January 10th! It’s a great little collection, and I’m so excited to have been a part of it, so it’s most certainly worth the preorder.

If you’re the sort of person who likes to read and review books on different sites, I would absolutely appreciate ratings and reviews on my various new releases on GoodReads or Romance io or TheStoryGraph or any other site you might tend to use — and of course, as usual, if you’re a queer, disabled, or otherwise marginalised content creator and you’re looking for books to review or talk about on book- or arts- focused YouTubes or blog sites and can’t afford to buy any of my books, I’m always happy to give codes for free eBooks out to aid other creators in their work.

There’s no expectation of a positive review, or even an expectation that you post a review at all if you find that it doesn’t click for you, but as a poor creator myself I like to give people a boost where I can. You can just drop me an email at:

Contact@JohannesTEvans.com

And of course, if you have questions about my work and don’t want to ask them on or , you can drop me an email — and ditto if you want to reach out with any professional considerations.

As far goes conventions, I’m fairly certain I won’t be at EasterCon 2025 because I don’t think I can afford the travel and accommodation in Belfast, but I will definitely be attending , and I’m hoping to attend BristolCon in Bristol and FantasyCon in Brighton come the end of October.

Hope you all have wonderful holidays if you’re celebrating any!
